Episode 16 focuses on policies in Vietnam with Ly Nguyen (UMD SPP ‘12). Participants also included Evan Papp (UMD SPP ‘11).
Ly Nguyen is a Senior Associate at Asia Group Advisors and is based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Asia Group Advisors, or AGA, is a strategic advisory firm specializing in market entry, government affairs and public policy in Southeast Asia and Ly graduated from the University Of Maryland School of Public Policy Class of 2012.
We discussed:
Her work for Asia Group Advisors, including an article she co-authored titled: Vietnam’s new leadership picks: compromise and concessions between factions bode well for national stability;
Her thoughts about relations between Vietnam and the U.S. and the possibility of the U.S. getting back into a trade alliance with Asian nations that also ensures the protections for labor rights and environmental rights; and
Where she sees opportunity and hope in Vietnam.
